Virginia Invitational

Virginia is going to be getting a taste of moped racing this June

via 1977 Mopeds Blog
We made such a splash at the Polini Cup, that the entire Moped Racing League has been invited to do a race in Virgina. While any points you score will not count toward the actual winner of the Polini Cup, it will definately give you some more practice.

Here are the Stats:
When: June 20th, and 21st.
Where: Plantation Valley Kart Track

This is going to be very high profile Motorsports event, and will give great exposure to Moped Racing as an up and coming sport. If you are interested in going, we can help cooridinate you getting there. We are only going to go if there is enough interest.

Death Race 2009 Motorized Bicycle Rally

My roomate recieved an an email from Spooky Tooth Cycles about the 2009 Tucson Death Race:
Death Race is an annual outlaw desert event where riders regularly see their bikes nearly disintegrate as they approach speeds of 50 mph. To avoid the heat from coming down us, we have rented a race track for the day. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate.

Death Race 2009 will be held at P1 Circuit Race Track at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, AZ on Saturday April 18th, 2009. The entry fee, which covers insurance and track rental, is $10. Riders can begin to register at 12 pm and spend the afternoon running the course at their leisure. Death Race will begin promptly at 5pm.

Death Race is open to motorized bicycles with mid-frame 2-cycle bike engines. If enough riders attend, we may hold an open class race for any engine type mounted to a bicycle with operable pedals, i.e. Tanaka, Golden Eagle, Briggs & Stratton, etc. Safety equipment such as helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads are required.

This is a premiere event and the largest of its kind held anywhere in the nation. The winner of Death Race not only wins prizes, but gets full bragging rights for the year and a prominent spot on the Spooky Tooth website. This is an excellent opportunity for manufacturers and vendors to promote their products by placing first in Death Race 2009.

Bring the grill! This is going to be a very fun day long event!

See you there...
